Satinwood Game Table  Irish Hepplewhite

Price: $18,500.00
Availability: in stock

18th Century Irish Demilune Satinwood Game Table was believed to be made by William Moore working in Dublin, Ireland around 1780 -1815. He was a student of John Mathew and William Ince of London. (Miller's Antiques, Volume XXI) His use of Amboyna and Tulip wood panels and light and dark string inlays are all forms of his carpetentry skills. This D- shaped game table opens to a complete circle. The inside surface is a tooled black leather which we believe was replaced. The Hepplewhite legs are tapered to a spade foot. The finish is not the original, however it is in good order and hand polished.
